Parason Decker Thickener consists of a drum installed eccentrically to the vat radius. This allows more clearance on the feed side than the discharge side. The drum is set to rotate in the direction of the feed and carries the stock further for dewatering.

The filtrate is discharged through the outlet of the drum & an outlet connection on the vat head. The consistency of discharged pulp is regulated by adding or removing steel weirs to the overflow wall. In this way, with the help of Decker Thickener, the pulp is thickened and stored in the chest.
